WEBINAR – Life Cycle Assessment for more sustainable Urban Construction

WEBINAR – Life Cycle Assessment for more sustainable Urban Construction
When: March 22, 2019 – 14:30 CET
The EU-28 total waste generation in 2014 was 2598 M tons, the highest since 2004, 33.5% of which was from the construction sector, being also one of the larger consumers of inorganic raw materials. Construction activities are mainly localized in urban areas where by 2050 about 86% of the developed world is expected to live.
The H2020 project CINDERELA aims to develop a new Circular Economy Business Model (CEBM) for use of secondary raw materials (SRM) in urban areas, connecting different industries, the construction sector and municipal services, decision makers and the general public.

One of the key issues to demonstrate the sustainability aspects of the CINDERELA CEBM is the evaluation of how the new solutions proposed in the CinderCEBM stand in comparison with the current "business as usual" situation, in order to promote a faster and a more robust transition to a circular economy, on the basis of scientifically proved information. It will be validated with the environmental, economic and social assessment through whole life (LCA, LCC and S-LCA).
The webinar is aimed at giving an insight of the methodology proposed in CINDERELA for environmental life cycle assessment as well as inviting relevant stakeholders in giving input to set up the framework for the Life Cycle Assessment of secondary raw materials.
